DJCL Code of Conduct
The League Code of Conduct is to be followed by all Board Members, Coaches, Co Coaches, and Volunteers associated with the League.
1. Refrain from smoking and chewing tobacco on the field or during practice.
2. Do not criticize cheerleaders in front of spectators, but reserve constructive criticism for practice or with other teammates if others might benefit.
3. Do not criticize an opposing team or fans by word of mouth or gestures.
4. Emphasize that good athletes strive to be good students and that both physically and mentally alert.
5. Strive to make every Cheerleading activity serve as a training ground for life,and a basis for good mental and physical health.
6. Refrain from using abusive or profane language.
7. No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed before or during any practices or games.
8. Do not incite unsportsmanlike conduct.
9. Be honest and fair to all cheerleaders. Remember they are young people taking your direction.
10. Make no promises you cannot or do not intend to keep.
11. Coaches do not make team or league policy, they carry them out. However during practices, games, or other events held by the league, the coaching staff is in charge and shall not be interfered with except in case of rule violations and any other conduct deemed by higher authority to be inimical to the welfare of the girls of the league.
12. Coaches shall hold a minimum of 1 practice a week and attend all games unless they provide a legitimate excuse and notification to the Cheer Director.
